French President Emmanuel Macron has spoken out following a missile attack on Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s hometown of Kryvyi Rih, which left 20 people dead, including nine children. In a statement posted on his official X account, Macron condemned Russia's strikes on Kryvyi Rih and Kyiv, criticizing Moscow for disregarding peace proposals.
“On this day of national mourning in Ukraine, my thoughts are with the children and all civilian victims of the deadly strikes carried out by Russia, such as those in Kryvyi Rih on April 4. Again, last night, numerous Russian strikes targeted residential areas in Kyiv and several other Ukrainian cities,” the French President said.
Macron also pointed out that nearly a month had passed since Ukraine accepted U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal for a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire. Despite efforts to secure peace, he noted, "Russia continues its war with renewed intensity, showing no regard for civilians."
The French President called for an immediate halt to the Russian strikes. “These Russian strikes must stop. A ceasefire must be reached as soon as possible. If Russia continues to reject peace, strong action must follow,” he declared. He questioned how much longer Russia would "toy with peace offers from the United States and Ukraine, while continuing to kill children and civilians."

The attack on Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih came after a series of Russian missile and drone strikes. Last night, in addition to drones, Russia launched cruise and ballistic missiles, triggering two nationwide air alerts. Kyiv endured several explosions throughout the night as air defenses shot down enemy drones. However, a ballistic missile attack in the morning caused significant damage.
On April 4, a Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih was followed by a drone attack that evening. As of the latest reports, 20 people were killed, and over 70 were injured. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated that the attacks were launched from the Black Sea, underscoring Moscow's refusal to agree to an unconditional ceasefire. “They want to preserve their ability to strike our cities and ports from the sea,” Zelenskyy said, adding that a ceasefire at sea is crucial for overall security and peace.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that Russia's increased aerial bombardment was a sign of Moscow's reluctance to end the war, stating, “The pressure on Russia is still insufficient.”
Regarding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, which remains under Russian occupation, Ukraine’s Energoatom CEO, Petro Kotin, warned that restarting the plant would be unsafe. He noted that it would take up to two years for Ukraine to regain control of the facility and address significant challenges such as insufficient cooling water, lack of personnel, and inadequate electricity supply. The future of the Zaporizhzhia plant is a critical issue in any peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
Why are the rest of the world afraid of this little, insignificant piece of dead sperm called Putin. Its about time he was taken out, preferably by his iwn people.
