Former Clinton Pollster Stunned as People Flee Democratic Party: 'I've Never Seen Anything Like This'

Former Clinton pollster Mark Penn remarked on Fox News Friday that key voter groups are abandoning the Democratic Party.

According to a CNN/SSRS poll from March 6-9, the Democratic Party's favorability rating has fallen to a historic low of 29%. Appearing on "Hannity," Penn expressed his astonishment, saying he had never seen such a dramatic decline in his 40 years of polling experience. "The Democratic Party's ratings have plunged from 47% favorable to 29%, even 27% in some polls, which represents a significant loss of moderate, working-class voters," he said.

Penn noted that the party appears to be narrowing to a base primarily composed of left-wing figures like Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, who have been outspoken in advocating for the party's platform across the country.

“These are the types of voters the Democratic Party needs to win elections, but instead, it’s shrinking to a base of left-wing advocates like Bernie Sanders and AOC, who are traveling the country promoting the Democratic agenda. That’s not helping,” Penn added.

In response to significant losses in the 2024 elections, where Republicans secured the White House and took control of both congressional chambers, several national Democratic organizations, including the Democratic National Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and the Association of State Democratic Committees, launched the "People’s Town Halls" tour in Iowa last Friday. The initiative targets Republican-controlled districts nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has been actively opposing President Donald Trump’s policies, particularly the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, which has aimed to reduce the size of federal workforces.

DOGE's creation, designed to cut government expenditures, has sparked strong resistance from Democrats, though it has also gained considerable support from the public.

In the House, Ocasio-Cortez criticized the Trump-backed government spending bill, calling it a "slush fund" for Trump and Musk on social media. At the same time, Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania condemned his party’s opposition to the bill, labeling it as "total theater."
